Why we do what we do

Millions of people in Canada lack access to their health care information, preventing them and their care teams from making the best, safest and most personalized decisions possible about their health.

Today, you can easily track just about any piece of personal information - from financial to commercial - right down to your last coffee order. Emails, messages, bank balances are taps away but access to vital healthcare information like blood tests, clinical notes and imaging is virtually non existent. For so long, the healthcare industry has stood in between the patient and their information by making access to health records expensive and time-consuming. Understanding those records, on the other hand, has never been a priority in the healthcare space.  This is done effectively through legacy health care systems, complicated data problems and archaic modes of everyday communication like faxing.

Dot Health has arrived on the scene to put the legacy of inefficiency, fragmentation and frustration behind us and put forth a bold new vision of how health care information should work for people in Canada. We help people get their vital personal health information all in one place. Faster. Cheaper. We also believe understanding your health information is just as important as having easy access to it. We do this through beautiful visualizations, contextual explanations of medical jargon, and even giving users the ability to chat with our resident physician.  All these efforts are to ultimately put the patient first by giving them the health care information they need to make the best decisions about their health. We’re committed to people not only getting all their information in one place, but by helping them better understand it.

The space of health care technology and consumers is riddled with unexpected challenges, complicated problems and a profound level of inefficiency. We've assembled a team of people that are resilient, forward-thinking and unafraid to challenge this status quo. Our mission to centralize people's health information in one place is challenging. We’re looking to work with someone who not only believes in the work that we do, but also exhibits the tenacity, precision and focus to build the best consumer digital health product the world has seen. If this sounds like something you would be interested in, keep on reading.

What are we looking for?

  • You have at least 2 years of experience shipping high-quality digital consumer product with focus, discipline and foresight
  • You thrive at solving complicated problems under difficult constraints
  • You shine at timely decision making
  • You’re not only great at managing your own time, but you’re great in helping your teammates better manage their time
  • When you’re presented with what seems to be a backlog of endless features filled with competing interests, you’re able to prioritize effectively and efficiently
  • You're comfortable doing what hasn't been done before and confident in your ability to ideate, plan and ship features that could succeed or fail
  • You’re willing to stay up to date and ahead of the curve when it comes to shifts and changes in health care policy, industry and technology
  • Bonus: You’ve worked previously as a designer or you’ve worked in health care previously
