Maple and Dot Health Partner to deliver Seamless Virtual Health Care

Did you hear the big news?

We are thrilled to announce we’ve made our love of Maple’s virtual health care services *official* — you can now link your Dot Health and Maple accounts!

This gives you the power to securely share your full medical history with Canada’s largest network of online health care providers through Maple. Plus, all of your Dot Health medical records will automatically be updated with notes, diagnoses, and prescriptions following a Maple consultation.

The goal of this partnership was simple: to improve health outcomes by strengthening the continuity of care between online and in-person physicians.

Dr. Brett Belchetz, a practising ER physician and the CEO and Co-Founder of Maple, says it’s a real-world problem that needed a real-world solution. “In the ER, I constantly run into cases where I need to access a patient’s medical records but can’t see any of their past history, even with the hospital’s electronic medical records system. Similarly, I often wish there was an easy way for all of a patient’s health care providers to see the notes from their ER visit with me.”

This integration solves for both of these needs. Together with Maple, we’re empowering Canadians to receive the same, and in some cases better, quality of care from the comfort of their home as they’d receive at an ER or walk-in clinic.

“I constantly run into cases where I need to access a patient’s medical records but can’t see any of their past history, even with the hospital’s electronic medical records system.”

Our one and only Founder and CEO, Huda Idrees, sees it as a bigger step towards connecting and democratizing health care information.

“Patients have a right to their health information, and yet there are so many hurdles in the way that prevent them from accessing it,” she says. “We want to give them the information they need to be active, engaged participants in their own care.”

As Canadians are focused now more than ever before on addressing hallway medicine at the provincial and national level, we think this new functionality is coming at *the* perfect time. We’re promoting a more accessible and coordinated health care system — not because it’s glamorous, but because it’s the way things should be.
